Eternia Nominated as "Female Artist Of The Year" (Vote NOW)

voting ends August 8th
Why vote for Eternia as "Female Artist Of The Year" at the 2010 Underground Music Awards? Well, whether this site has been your source for hip-hop the past year or not, it'd be hard not to notice Eternia's grind...
Eternia introduced herself to countless new fans through her popular web-series "Road To Release." In the process, Eternia secured a worldwide record deal and a label home for her "AT LAST" LP through Fat Beats Records. She released a free mixtape called "Get Caught Up," which received over 20K downloads. Audio leaks from the Eternia & MoSS "AT LAST" project gained support on Sirius & College Radio from DJ Premier, DJ Eclipse, DJ JS-1, Sucio Smash (and many others) & support on mainstream radio through Peter Rosenberg on Hot 97. Eternia has features / album reviews in The Source, Smooth, Juice, Urbanology, Anattitude, National Post, Exclaim!, Boston Phoenix, and amongst others, support from countless websites like 2DopeBoyz, NahRight, HipHopGame, Urb, OkayPlayer, HipHopDX, AboveGroundMagazine, Bloggerhouse, XXLMag, PotholesInMyBlog, Kevinnottingham, OnSmash, etc. Eternia rocked at SXSW, Splash! Festival, Rock Steady's 33rd Anniversary and dozens of other major stages, and has also released 2 of 4 official music videos scheduled for the "AT LAST" album.
Audio leaks can be found in the archives of this site featuring : Ras Kass, Joell Ortiz, Rah Digga, Rage, Jean Grae, Tiye Phoenix, Reef The Lost Cauze, Termanology, Maestro Fresh Wes, Tona, and more. Do I really need to say more?? Award or not, Eternia has been putting in work, and shows no signs of stopping! Show your support for Eternia as 2010 "Female Artist Of The Year." Peace & Love.

Rock Steady Crew 33rd Anniversary - "Rock Steady For Life"
Ok, so check out the line-up for the 33rd Rock Steady Crew Anniversary: Big Daddy Kane (my favorite MC live), EPMD, Kurtis Blow, Black Sheep, Eternia, Rakaa Iriscience, Artifacts, Lords Of The Underground, Immortal Technique, 9th Wonder, and so many more! Big props to DJ Eclpse, JS1, and Evil Dee, who will also be there, holding it down. I'm hoping that we get some decent weather and can be out there, enjoying the festivities. Later that night, you can check out Eternia on "Rap Is Outta Control" - Sirius/Hip Hop Nation w/ DJ Eclipse. In typical fashion, I will play the background, but I'll be in the building lol. Anyone who comes out to Jersey (12pm-9pm), definitely introduce yourself if you see me & E out in the crowd. Peace.Apollo Brown ft. Stik Figa - Seasons

Been following Apollo Brown for a while, and he brings heat on the boards! "The Reset" is a sick album, please do not sleep, because I easily could have posted any 1 of the other 14 joints off the album. His instrumental releases were equally impressive, so find what you can and be sure to support. I'd like to see him & Eternia work on a joint or two in the future - just need a reason lol. Check it out.

Blitz The Ambassador - Ghetto Plantation
Blitz The Ambassador - Ghetto PlantationThis was definitely one of my favorite tracks from 2009; Blitz really did it with this one. This is how you make music - concept, lyrics, instrumentation, production = MUSIC. His live show? Not to be messed with either. The track was featured on his '09 release, Stereotype - If you haven't picked it up yet, it's definitely a worthwhile purchase. Check out a live show and cop it directly from the artist or you can do a quick search online, I'm sure its available through most retailers. Support.

Jay Electronica - Swagger Jackson's Revenge (Prod. By 14KT)
Jay Electronica - Swagger Jackson's Revenge (Prod. By 14KT)Not at all a new joint. In fact, I posted this back when it came out, shocked at the production credit. I've been a fan of KT's production for a hot minute and few artists had more hype surrounding them than Jay Electronica (and may still have?). According to KT, "I was probably just as surprised as you when the track showed up in my email! Abracadabra right? That meant A LOT to me. I always wanted to work with Jay Elect and I'm glad he reached out to me." Word up on that - KT's definitely a humble cat & I'm feeling this joint, still. Worthy of a throwback for today, hope you check it out. Peace
DJ JS-1 & DJ Skizz - Re-Cycled: Strictly Remixes (Mixtape)

New mixtape from the good homie, DJ JS-1 & The Halftime Show's own, DJ Skizz. This mixtape fits quite nicely here at The UnderGround Come Up, where I generally like to support tracks just like those featured on this 90s inspired remix mixtape. Aside from JS being one of my favorite DJs, this is just filled with bangers and I wanted to support it. For lots more mixes from DJ JS-1, check out his website, and get caught up! We'll all be at the Rock Steady 33rd Anniversary if you are in the area, be sure to come through and have a good time - August 1st in Jersey. See you then - Peace.

Lauryn Hill - Repercussions (Unreleased)

I guess with "Rock The Bells" lurking & with L-Boogie preparing to take the stage for it, it was a good time to let loose of some old, but unreleased music. Lauryn Hill's music is always welcome in my inbox, so I'm not mad at how many dozens of people sent me this joint lol. This is a nice track - new, old, unreleased, whatever - definitely check it out and remember what it was like to anticipate a dope release.
10 (Ten) Steps to GROW Your Future & Finances

10 (Ten) Steps to GROW Your Future & Finances
for more info: Willie Jolley Worldwide
1. Decide what you want:
How are you going to have a dream come true…if you don’t have a dream?
2. Write it down and be specific:
Don’t merely say you want to be rich: be specific, assign a number to it. One person’s ceiling is another person’s floor.
3. Read your goals three times a day:
Once in the morning, then at Noon and again at bedtime.
4. Set a date:
If you set a date, you will not procrastinate.
5. Think of it often:
Take time daily to think and ask yourself. “What else can I do to achieve my goals?”
6. Dream and imagine:
Use the power of positive visualization. See yourself enjoying it.
7. Develop a plan of action:
Plan your work then work your plan. If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail!
8. Do three things daily towards your goal:
Three things done consistently are better than ten things done inconsistently.
9. Stay positive:
Start your day with something positive. Make self-motivation as routine as bathing.
10. Act like you have already achieved it:
Act your way into a new way of thinking, and think your way into a new way of acting.

Ski Beatz ft. Mos Def - Cream Of The Planet

Another heatrock from Ski Beatz...I should just leave it @ that lol. I'm hoping that this mixtape (24 Hour Karate School) actually drops from Ski (on September 7th), but like MOST people, I am skeptical if it'll drop on time, if ever. Nevertheless, Mos Def pens a banger over a beautiful landscape crafted on the boards by Ski. Feel good shit right here ...... give it a listen & a look, if you want the visuals!
