Independents Finest Mixtape Series: 3 Volumes Of Dope Mixes

The 1st of 3, Independents Finest Vol.1 set it off for a new series of dopeness around '01. The mix gets set off by Apathy & is followed up by Reks, Milano, El Da Sensei, Guru, L-Fudge, Phife Dawg & more. These mixes weren't as popular as the Echo Tapes or anything, but (no shots) these joints were a bit more about mixing, where the lyricist lounge mixes were about breaking demos and lots of unsigned artists. Makes for great listens, I definitely recommend you check all three of them out. Shouts to M-Boogie.

This might be my favorite of the 3, Independents Finest Vol.2, simply because I had slept on the Guru & Masta Ace's track "Conflict" until I heard this mix lol. Banger. There are also tracks from Wee Bee Foolish, DJ Eli, Akrobatik, Illacoin, Brand Nubian, Lord Jamar, E Rule, Planet Asia, Sandman, Lord Finesse, Grand Agent and more. All around, another nice mix. You should already know by now, cop it when I post it. Peace & continue to check out Vol.3, probably the most known of the 3 mixes and it has the most tracks lol.

As I mentioned, Independents Vol. 3 is probably the most known of the mixes, likely because it generated enough of a buzz by Vol.3 that people were checking for it. It's got 30 tracks from artists like Emanon, Demigodz, Rasco, Rise, Yesh, Born Talent, Lexicon, Rasco, and lots of artists I'm not all that familiar with, I'll be honest. Held down by M-Boogie, it's a nice mix, for sure. Give it a listen for some tracks you've probably never heard, a bunch of DJ interludes with some nice breakdowns, and all that. If that is a font for the covers, someone send it to me, please.
