Joell Ortiz - Top Of The Charts (Prod. The Faculty)

This might be my favorite Joell Ortiz track. He drops more punchlines in this track (that are on point) then most artists drop in an album & his flow and delivery were extremely on point. I don't love everything he makes, but even amongst the joints that I really like, I think he came with it on this track the most. I believe it was released on one of his Bodega Chronicles (or something) mixtapes, and I've never seen it anywhere else. With all the content he puts out (especially lately), it'd be easy for you to have overlooked this track, so get it now & enjoy!

Chino XL - Wordsmyth

"Wordsmyth" - can't think off too many better ways to describe his gift on the mic. Chino XL is a true lyricist and his wordplay is always sick. On this joint, he flips phrases crazy over a dope instrumental. It was featured on "Poison Pen," which was a mixed compilation that came out a long while ago. I don't have as much access to Chino's music as I would an east coast artist, so I'm not real sure if it ever came out on anything official. Either way, for some dope lyrics and an ill flow, you need to check 'em out...enjoy this one!

Evidence ft. Phonte - Let Yourself Go Remix (Prod. By The Alchemist)

This is pure heat right here. The remix features Phonte & of course production from the always-ill, Alchemist. Phonte's verse on this track is dumb hot. I copped the vinyl a while ago & played it to death, then put it in the crates and forgot about it. I threw it on this morning & was reminded all over again how ill it is lol. The track was also featured on Evidence's "The Layover Mixtape," which was done by DJ Skee, if I remember correctly. That mix marked a real turning point for me. I've always been a fan of Evidence, but around that time, Ev was knocking out mad freestyles, working on The Layover EP, Cats & Dogs and dropped this mixtape. I had to respect his work ethic and he's definitely showed an increase in his production and flow. He's clearly slept on. Enjoy.
