I've definitely been on a mix/compilation kick the past few weeks & this right here is M-Boogie's "Laid In Full" ("Mixtape"), which dropped around '99. It's a nice underground mix, which has features from Peanut Butter Wolf, DJ Revolution, DJ Rhettmatic, Joey Chavez, Evidence, Kool Keith, Lootpack, DJ Spooky, Mos Def, Planet Asia, DJ Babu, Al Tariq, and more. Some solid turntablism on this mix with mixed with a nice selection of joints...give it a look. This is "New York State Of Rhyme," a dope compilation of joints that dropped around '98 on Rumour Records in the UK. It features some early joints from Consequence, El Da Sensei, Network Reps, High & Mighty, Craig G, Shabaam Sahdeeq & more. I picked this up for the Cons joint & "Urban Harvest" by Mike Zoot, but there are other nice tracks, as well. I think I copped this @ Tower Records, before I got banned from the store ... long story lol. A lot of you should remember this one, this is Tommy Boy Black Label's "Hip-Hop 101." It dropped around 2000 & features Natural Elements, Self-Scientific, Royce Da 5'9, Masta Ace, Camp Lo, & more. The tracks most ppl wanted were "Live It Up Pt.2" (N.E.) & Ace's "Splash," but there are plenty of tracks on there to enjoy if you give it a look. Tommy Boy Black Label were on to something, but didn't go the right way with it, it happens. Enjoy this dope compilation.
