R.I.P. Camu Tao. This is his "Hold The Floor," 12" which is a banger, for real. It was released in '01 on Def Jux, and has since it's first spin, given people the unstoppable "ugly face." We sadly lost Camu Tao back in May of '08 to a long battle with lung cancer. Hopefully people still appreciate the quality of music he worked on & continue to bump it and let it live on. Rest In Power."You better pay attenion when L rhyme..." No doubt. This is Big L's "Street Struck" & he is def 1 of my favorite MCs of all-time. I was hyped off him from the first 1st time I really remember him on record, which was "Represent" off the "Runaway Slave" album. One of my favorite posse cuts, for sure. I've lost count of the # of spins for his LPs or his freestyles. He was a major loss. R.I.P. Big L.Before the remixes & unwarranted collabs came out, there is still a great catalog of music by 2Pac. I wasn't the BIGGEST 2Pac fan, but I def gave his records spin, esp his earliest releases. This right here is "Do For Love," but I easily coulda posted "My Block," "So Many Tears," etc. As often as he predicted & wrote about his own death, I guess it was a sign of how he lived. I wish people would leave his joints alone ...I can't post 2Pac & not post Biggie, right? I never bought into the East vs West Coast beef, b/c to me, it was a no-brainer lol. These senseless deaths were a huge wake-up call for both coasts & I'll put up with the debate of who was better forever if it means we won't lose any more talent ... wishful thinking. Anyhow, this is Biggie's "Unreleased & Unleashed LP," which dropped in '95, here's the tracklist. Eazy-E's "Real Muthaphukin G's" is not a track I should be proud to enjoy, & I'm not lol. As a diss @ Dre & as an instrumental, which is available on this 12" tho, you cannot deny that it was a big record. Due to the nature of his death, it's not given as much notice in terms of losses to the hip-hop community, but he was influential going as far back as NWA . Plenty of MCs mirrored their styles from him. R.I.P.
